Asyntai AI Chatbot for Joplin

Ask your notes in Joplin

Send the notebooks you choose to your Asyntai knowledge base, then ask the chatbot about them without leaving Joplin. The panel also lists the chats your website had and the leads those chats collected.

What it does

  • Sends your notes. Pick the notebooks in the settings. Every note in them goes to your Asyntai knowledge base. Edit a note and the entry is replaced. Delete a note, or move it to another notebook, and the entry goes with it.
  • Answers from your notes. The Ask tab sends your question to your own Asyntai agent. Press Insert into note to put the answer in the note you are writing.
  • Shows your website chats. The Chats tab lists the conversations your visitors had. Open one and press Save as note to keep the whole transcript.
  • Shows your leads. The Leads tab lists the email addresses and phone numbers those chats collected.

Install

  1. In Joplin, open Tools, then Options, then Plugins.
  2. Search for Asyntai AI Chatbot and press Install.
  3. Restart Joplin.

Set up

  1. Sign in at asyntai.com, open Settings, then API, and copy your API key. The API needs the Starter plan or higher.
  2. In Joplin, open Tools, Options, Asyntai AI Chatbot.
  3. Paste the key into API key.
  4. In Notebooks to send, write the notebook paths, one per line. For example Work/Support. Write / for every notebook. An empty box sends nothing.
  5. Use Notebooks to keep out for a notebook inside one of those that must stay out, for example Work/Support/Drafts.

Open the panel with the Asyntai button in the note toolbar, or from Tools, Asyntai AI Chatbot.

Commands

All four appear under Tools, Asyntai AI Chatbot:

  • Show or hide the panel
  • Send this note
  • Remove this note
  • Send all notes

Notes that are skipped

A note with fewer than 120 characters of text is a stub, so it is not sent. Write more in it and it goes up on the next change.

Build it yourself

npm install
npm run dist # writes publish/com.asyntai.aichatbot.jpl
npm test # 16 offline tests
npm run test:live # tests against a running Asyntai server

src/api.ts, src/text.ts and src/sync.ts have no Joplin import, which is why the tests drive them directly.
